I have a range of Hackmann pans from around twenty years ago and they still look like new - literally. They're incredible. But then I bought a saute pan like this about five years ago and it looked vile in six months of light use. It was impossible to clean. Looking more closely at the details (which I hadn't before as I trusted Hackmann) the pan was made in China or possibly Korea - I forget. Somewhere in Asia, not Japan. The seller (Contemporary Trends in Ithaca, NY) refused to take it back. Hackmann didn't answer several emails. I gave up, donated this very expensive pan to Goodwill, and swore never to buy another Hackmann product. A shame, as they used to be so good, and I needed more. If this pan is made anywhere other than Finland don't buy it - word from the wise.
