This is an awesome invention. To be clear, you get both the pan AND the plastic divider. Just put your cupcake liners in the pan as usual, set the divider right on top, then pour the batter into each side. VERY CAREFULLY remove the divider (so your batters don't mix up too much), and voila: half and half cupcakes ready to go in the oven. The results impress everyone but no one knows how super easy they are to make! I've made several batches for my kids, friends' birthdays, and just for fun, experimenting with lots of different flavors. (My favorite so far has been half vanilla/half strawberry cakes with chocolate frosting = neopolitan cupcakes! My husband enjoyed red velvet/devil's food cake ones with a plain buttercream frosting.) This divider will also generally fit a muffin pan, though because the cup sizes on muffin pans are slightly bigger than cupcake pans, the divider may not reach all the way to the bottom of the liner. (Half chocolate/half banana nut muffins are awesome, btw.)I usually hand wash the divider, but I've put it on the top rack of the dishwasher a few times when I've felt especially lazy, and it holds up fine.I'd definitely recommend this pan for the novelty and to make yourself seem like a super awesome baker, even if you're just a novice! This is a fun idea! I originally thought it would help cut down on cake scraps since you don't have to extract the core from the cupcakes to fill them, but there are plenty of scraps created from the overflow batter on the top half of the pan. I found that I needed about 1/2 Tbsp less batter in each part than the instructions suggested. Also, no matter how much I greased every part of the pan, the cupcakes still stuck to the top when I separated the 2 pieces, and I had to carefully pull them off. Overall, fairly pleased with this purchase, though.I choose this pan because you can make two different color cupcakes its so cool bought a package of cake mix this holiday season had green and red cake mix in it worked greatthe pan is easy to use just put in the mix and wait about 1 to min and take out the divider ( hope it works as good for you as it did me )here is what Ilike most easy clean up everyone can live with that. I would tell anyone that asked me about this pan to buy it and enjoy try different things to different kinds of muffins I telling everyone to buy this pan you won't be sorryHow cool is it to have bi-color cupcakes! They are just so pretty, and makes any goodies taste better when the secret is revealed under the frosting. I love to make them for my high-school classes on a short Friday, and watch the kids get excited about what colors are inside. My only complaint is that I need to wash the divider off between two pans of cupcakes. The divider also fits other cupcake pans that I already have. This cupcake pan is very durable, non stick, and my very fav.Nice pans although a bit messy til you get the hang of it. I thought I would go thru and do all one flavor on half then do the other flavor on the other half.NOPE...SEEPAGE WAS A BIG PROBLEM. So I had to do a scoop of one flavor then quickly get the other flavor scooped in before the SEEPAGE got too bad. That was a bit time consuming, so don't expect to hurry thru this process or you will have a mess. These are a perfect solution to messy cupcakes. Instead of having to worry about pulling wrappers off and disposing of them, then having crumbs falling everywhere, you can put your cupcake in a cone and it's portable. They are fun to make and fun to eat. We used them to make cupcakes to sell at a fundraiser and they were very popular.Love this pan. Very sturdy. You can bake and cool in one pan. I love it and the price is right. Can be a little tricky when filling each side but once you get it, cupcakes come out very pretty. I tried cherry chip and chocolate they were very good many complimentsThis pan is great to bake cupcake cones in - novel idea that kids of all ages LOVE! My only complaint is that the lid doesn't fit on tightly - it just sort of sits on top of the pan loosely (with a lip around the edge, but it's not firm placement). Also to note - this pan doesn't fit the pointy ice cream cones, just the flat-bottomed cones. Overall - did what I needed it to do!
